While I like the information provided in this little book - "little" is the key word. This book is only 4"x6" and the print is very small. THey would have done much better to make this book around 5"x7" so those of us with old eyes can read it. Disappointed in the extra small print. Pretty weak, if not innacurate on the topic of Power Factor. Thing is, ALL AC power calculations must take Power Factor in consideration.However the book only discusses Power Factor in scope to kilowatts or KVA, and actually uses DC ohms law for less than KW or KVA. In truth, power Factor applies in ALL AC circuits, regardless of the values.While the DC power formula results in n the same answer for an AC non-reactive (i.e. resistive) circuit, it is still a misapplication to do so, as it doesn't take the Power Factor into account.True, the Power Factor for an AC resistive circuit = 1, it yields the same answer as a DC circuit. However by not using the Power Factor in the equation, it doesn't acknowledge the load type.Power Factor and misapplication of Ohms Law is chronic in the industry, which only.makes it harder to understand for many. I don't know how many times I have argued Power Factor with supposedly knowledgeable people that didn't have a clue.I fear this book only advances the myth of using DC Ohms Law for AC circuits.Most of the time, publications referencing the pie chart used on the cover of the book do have a disclaimer that the power for.ula is for resistive circuits only, but this book doesn't even do that.
